Heres the "Word on the Street" from the 2003 Season!!!

To the outstanding members of the 2003 Boston Crusaders:

I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for an outstanding season! Your performance at finals was unbelievable! I truly believe it was the strongest performance this organization has ever had, and all of you were a part of the team that made it happen. BRAVO to everyone!

Usually at this time of the year, I am exhausted and happy to be back home in my normal routine. However, for some strange reason, I really miss being with the corps and working with everyone! This is a credit to everyone involved, because I still feel as if I could go on for a few more weeks! This is a first in my 21 years of drum corps. I truly enjoyed teaching you this summer, and cannot wait to start again for the 2004 season!

To those of you that aged out, thank you so much for raising the level of excellence of the corps to a new standard! You are the reason why BAC is considered one of the top groups in this activity. To those of you that still are eligible to march, I challenge you to continue to dedicate yourself to excellence and BAC for the 2004 season! We are still a young group that has only made the top 12 finals 5 times! For BAC to break into the top elite groups, we have to prove to DCI and the world that we are for real! Without a doubt, we did that this year, through all of the challenges and setbacks we encountered and conquered. As I said this summer, we do not measure our success on the placement at the end of the season. Our plan is one that is a much bigger picture...one that began back in 1999 and is continuing to develop and push BAC into one of the elite groups in DCI. I guarantee you that I will be there to see the reality of our goals, and I hope each of you are as excited as I am to see this happen!

I wish all of you a restful and relaxing fall! I look forward to seeing you at the auditions in December. You better believe I will be fired up and ready to go!

Sincerely,

Bob Barfield

MOVE-IN UPDATE!!!
Hows it going, this is Harry Freeman. The move-in process in Henniker, New Hampshire has been a very exciting growing point for the drum corps, but especially for the soprano section. It's been a lot of fun so far, we're getting better every day. No big hang-ups so far, everything is on schedule as normal. Everyone is getting really antsy for our first show, we're all ready to see how the crowd reacts to what we're doing this year. It should be interesting how the show goes. Well back to work for now.
-Harry

Interestin huh...honestly...we are goin to be stronger than anyother BAC corps has been in a long time...lol...its gonna be a fun summer...well gotta go...

Hey Guys,

This is David, I personally felt like the camp down in Florida in March was very slow to start. Lets put things in perspective. We had 90 degree heat bearing down on us, a field which was less than piss-poor, a very odd saturday start time as well as a general lack of veterans due to WGI or other issues. Now...we can name all the excuses in the world for how our camp went last week but the bottom line is that it wasn't acceptable. I was a little disappointed and discouraged during the camp ESPECIALLY having just come back from an AMAZING New England Camp!!! Even so, I'd have to say that as far as Sopranos are concerned in Florida we were on FIRE!!! At least I thought so...and compared to the baritone line we were pros. However the Bari line did have alot against them with their lack of vets. I'm proud of the sop line for coming to the camp prepared and pushing the hornline, which seemed like the hardest task on the face of the PLANET!!! It's ok though...intonation will get there and so will the ability to hold the horns up and the rest of the hornline will soon catch up and we will join as one in April for hopefully one of the BEST camps of our lives!!!

Heres what Bob Barfield had to say...
Hello to everyone!

I hope everyone made it home safely. I want to congratulate everyone on surviving this weekend's camp. While I was not satisfied with the overall performance level, I was encouraged with the effort at the end of the Sunday block. I felt everyone pushed to the end, and hopefully through the struggles of the weekend, we figured out how much farther we must go to achieve success this summer.
Remember to work everyday on your physical endurance and flexibility! When you are at home and not feeling like working on these issues, just remember how difficult it was for you to make it through the weekend! It really is important and crucial that we all come prepared to the April Camp. NO Excuses!

Take care,

Bob Barfield

More Words from Bob...
"Guys, the bottom line is this: We have an opportunity to go farther then any other BAC corps has ever gone, as long as we all believe in the goals for the group. Not a placement or a number, but rather a reputation of being an organization that sets standards in the activity and constantly achieves at a high level of professionalism and performance. This will come to us only by busting our tails during the time between camps, and ensuring that we come out of the blocks this year at an extremely high level! You have my word, and the remainder of the corps staff, that we will push harder then any other year. I challenge EACH of you to join us in this mission!!!"

(Said by Bob Barfield after the March Boston Camp)

Look at this!!!
Bes sure to put your personal info into the guestbook ASAP...later guys
